>== Welcome to the Martial Heroes Wiki Help ==

This page describes the usage of the Wiki so you can submit your own texts, make corrections, upload pictures, etc.

This Wiki was designed to serve the 5 basic languages Martial Heroes currently uses. This means that we try to translate as many pages as we can, but because of the dynamic nature of a Wiki, we can't always keep up with the translations. If you find an untranslated page, and if you wish, you can contribute to Martial Heroes by translating the page to your native language.

Adding articles

Before you can add articles, you need to be a registered member of the Martial Heroes Wiki. To become one, press the log in / create account button on the top right corner of the Wiki.

To find out if an article exists, simply perform a search form the desired article. If the article don't exist, you're opted to create the page: "You can create this page."

Create Hyperlinks

Hyperlinks are automatically created when you put the url between brackets. Before you close the url, add a space and then type the link title. [wiki.martialheroes.eu home] generates a link like this >[wiki.martialheroes.eu home]

To make headings, like in this document, simply insert the heading between 'equal to' characters. Example: == Heading 2 ==

After three headings, the wiki automatically creates an index, like the one in the top of this article.

It is possible to create 6 different levels of headings, which will all appear in the index on the top of the screen. Capital nummers will be automatically added to the index. Create different levels of headings like so:

Heading 1
Heading 2
Heading 3
Heading 4
Heading 5
Heading 6
Editing Articles

If you find an error in an article or think the current article is incomplete, you can change or add whatever you think is relevant. With larger articles, like this one, the texts are divided into sections. Next to each section header appears an edit button. Pressing this button allows you to edit that specific section, without displaying the rest of the article. By pressing 'edit' at the bottom of the page, the full article contents are displayed. This comes in handy when you like to change the overall lay-out of the article.

Sometimes its better to discuss a change first. In that case, you can start a 'discussion' page

Remember, to edit pages, you need to be logged in and keep in mind that all changes are logged. Abuse will be punished.

Upload images

To upload images to the Wiki, use the link at the bottom of the page 'upload file' and follow the instructions. To include images in the new article, use this format: or [[image:geelogo1.png|alt text to include an alt text. You are not obligated to include a summary of the image file. Example:

Game Entertainment Europe logo

Links between articles

Linking between pages on this Wiki is a bit different than linking to external websites. The link needs to be between double brackets and just needs the page name. A link to the main page of this Wiki would look like this Main_page.

Linking to other languages

Whenever an article is translated, all articles should have an 'InterWiki crossreference'. This is very easy, the only thing you need is the name of the translated article. The bit of code below links to the Main page of all the 5 Wiki languages:

de:Hauptseite

en:Main_Page

fr:Accueil

nl:Hoofdpagina

pl:Strona_główna

Obviously, the abbreviations 'de', 'en', fr', 'nl', 'pl' stand for Deutsch, Français, English, Nederlands, and Polski. It is important that you use the order as stated in the example. These links automatically puts the flags in the header of the Wiki.

Please notice when you are making links that although the Wiki translates the characters to hexadecimal codes automatically, make sure the links actually work when you're finished writing or editing your article. Basically what this mean is you can use all the characters you wish when you're creating links, but they will appear different in the address bar of the browser. For example 'Strona_główna' will appear as 'Strona_g%C5%82%C3%B3wna' since the ł and ó are no uniform URL characters. One side note, you must use an underscore (_) to substitute a space in links -> Main_page
